Join Go Stargazing astronomer Dr Fred Stevenson for this one of a series of fascinating lectures in the Friarage Theatre at the Princess Alexandria Auditorium.
How big is the universe and how far can we see with our most powerful telescopes?
From the moon, to the planets, to the stars, to the most distant galaxies – we will discuss how far away these objects are. From those that we can see with our own eyes out to the mind-boggling distances probed by the world’s biggest and best telescopes. We will also explain how these distances are deduced. Hopefully an appreciation will be gained of our place in the wider universe.
