Join the Solent Amateur Astronomers at Toothill Observatory on 12 August 2026 for a spectacular day and night of astronomy. During the afternoon, visitors will have the opportunity to safely observe a partial solar eclipse using specially equipped solar telescopes, with eclipse glasses provided by Go Stargazing. As darkness falls, stay for one of the year’s most popular celestial events, the Perseids meteor shower, and enjoy views of shooting stars alongside expert guidance from society members. Whether you’re new to astronomy or a seasoned observer, this is a fantastic chance to experience two remarkable sky events in a single day.
