Partial solar eclipse viewing with the Wells and Mendip Astronomers

Families are invited to join members of Wells & Mendip Astronomers on the Wells Cathedral Green on Wednesday 12th August from 6.00pm to 8.30pm for a safe and fascinating look at our nearest star, the Sun.
This free event allows visitors to drop in and use a range of specially adapted telescopes, enabling you to observe the Sun safely without risk to your eyesight. With guidance from experienced astronomers, you will be able to see sunspots, faculae, filaments, and dramatic solar prominences.
The event is weather dependent.
