Sandsfoot Castle is a former fort constructed by Henry VIII to keep Portland Harbour safe and give protection from French invaders. It’s location on the South Coast overlooking the bay of Weymouth makes for a good stargazing location and frequently hosts public stargazing events organised with the help of Weymouth Astronomy Club.
