
Young Persons Astronomy Course with Bristol Astronomical Society

The Bristol Astronomical Society are pleased to organise this exciting astronomy course for young persons aged 9 – 11 years old.
Week 1 (12th Sept) – How to view the sky – naked eye, binoculars & telescopes.
Week 2 (26th Sept) – Solar System – Sun, aurora, Planets, Moons, Comets & Meteors
Week 3 (3rd Oct) – The Lifecycle of stars
Week 4 (24th Oct) – Astrophotography – mobile phones to telescopes
The course is intended to cover topics not normally dealt with in school.
Participants will also be offered a free visit to the BAS observatory to look at the sky through some large telescopes.
