Stargazing workshop at Hengistbury Head
Wednesday 18th November 2026 from 18:00pm to 20:00pm
Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre
Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH6 4EN, South West
Join Kate from Skyhigh Astronomy at this beautiful local nature reserve for an inspiring introduction to the night sky. Discover the stars and planets, look through a telescope, and learn about topics ranging from how stars form to the myths and legends behind well-known constellations. You’ll also hear how our Stone Age ancestors may have used the night sky to guide their lives. If you have binoculars, feel free to bring them along.
If the weather is cloudy, don’t worry—Kate will lead a captivating digital night sky tour featuring a journey through our local solar system with up-to-date images, models, videos, sounds, and even the chance to handle real meteorites, all while keeping an eye out for any clear spells.
