Solar Sunday with Mexborough and Swinton Astronomical Society
Sunday 14th August 2022 from 11:00am to 15:00pm
RSPB Dearne Valley - Old Moor
Broomhill, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S73 0YF
This informal event at RSPN Old Moor is an excellent chance to learn from the professionals about how the sun supports all life on earth and simply warms the world.
The telescopic gear you need to observe the sun safely will be brought by the Mexborough & Swinton Astronomical Society. You will be astounded to learn that the sun is the solar system’s nuclear reactor, and you might even spot evidence of solar flares, which are enormous magnetic blasts of energy that fly into space.
Solar Observing in the courtyard of RSPB Old Moor.
11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
