Solar Eclipse: Live at the Winchester Science Centre
Wednesday 12th August 2026 from 18:00pm to 20:30pm
Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium
Telegraph Way, Winchester, Hampshire, SO21 1HZ
Join Winchester Science Centre for a special evening celebrating the UK’s most significant solar eclipse in decades, with around 90% of the Sun set to be covered by the Moon. Visitors can safely experience the eclipse with included viewing glasses, expert guidance, and a dedicated planetarium show, while learning about the science behind eclipses through hands-on activities and live demonstrations.
The event also features family-friendly entertainment including steel band performances, face painting, creative outdoor activities, and interactive exhibits. If the weather is poor, activities will move indoors, ensuring the event goes ahead. Proceeds from the evening will support Wonderseekers.
