Aston Hall
Trinity Road, Birmingham, West Midlands, B6 6JD, West Midlands
Join Birmingham Astronomical Society at the magnificent Aston Hall for a special evening celebrating one of the sky’s most captivating celestial events: a partial solar eclipse.
As the Sun begins to set on Wednesday 12 August 2026, watch as the Moon passes in front of the Sun, creating a beautiful partial eclipse visible low in the western sky. Members of Birmingham Astronomical Society will be on hand to guide observations, explain the science behind eclipses, and answer your questions about our nearest star.
Solar viewing glasses will be available courtesy of Go Stargazing, ensuring visitors can safely enjoy this rare astronomical spectacle.
Set against the stunning backdrop of one of Birmingham’s finest historic buildings, this event offers a unique opportunity to experience astronomy in an extraordinary setting. Depending on weather conditions, telescopes may also be available for observing the Sun safely and exploring the evening sky.
Please remember: never look directly at the Sun without appropriate solar viewing equipment.
Whether you are a seasoned observer or discovering astronomy for the first time, join us at Aston Hall for an unforgettable evening beneath the changing sky.
