Sandy Astronomical Society "Observatunity" Stargazing Session
Sunday 10th January 2027 from 20:00pm to Saturday 16th January 2027 22:00pm
Blunham Playing Fields
Barford Road, Blunham, Bedfordshire, MK44 3ND
Sandy Astronomical Society’s “Observatunity” evenings are informal, practical stargazing sessions held at Blunham Playing Fields whenever the weather offers a good opportunity to observe.
Rather than taking place on a fixed date, an Observatunity may be arranged on any evening during the forthcoming week. The Society keeps a close eye on the forecast using Clear Outside, with sessions generally going ahead when predicted cloud cover is below 45%.
These evenings are all about getting outside under the stars. Members bring along telescopes and observing equipment, offering an opportunity to explore the night sky, share views and enjoy some practical astronomy with experienced local astronomers.
Because the date is determined at short notice by the weather, anyone wishing to attend should check Sandy Astronomical Society’s Facebook page for the latest updates. You can also sign up to the Society’s mailing list to receive notifications when an Observatunity is planned.
As with all outdoor observing events, conditions can change quickly, so please check for the latest update before travelling.
