Partial solar eclipse viewing at Beachy Head
Wednesday 12th August 2026 from 18:00pm to 20:30pm
Beachy Head Story Centre
Beachy Head Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN20 7YA
Join the Eastbourne Astronomical Society at the spectacular setting of Beachy Head to witness a partial solar eclipse safely and with expert guidance.
Our experienced members will be on hand throughout the event to explain the eclipse phenomenon and answer your questions about the Sun, eclipses, and astronomy. A selection of specially designed solar telescopes will be available, allowing you to observe the Sun’s surface and watch the Moon gradually pass across it in complete safety.
Eclipse glasses, provided by Go Stargazing, will be available to attendees, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the eclipse safely with their own eyes.
Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or simply curious about this fascinating celestial event, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience an eclipse from one of the South Coast’s most iconic locations.
**Please note:** Never look directly at the Sun without approved solar viewing equipment. Eclipse glasses and solar telescopes will be provided for safe observation.
We look forward to welcoming you to Beachy Head for this memorable astronomical event.
