Partial eclipse observing with Hertford Astronomy Group
Wednesday 12th August 2026 from 17:30pm to 20:30pm
Bramfield Village Hall
Bury Lane, Bramfield, Hertfordshire, SG14 2QL
Join the Hertford Astronomy Group on 12 August 2026 for a special public viewing of the partial solar eclipse from our observing site at Bramfield Village Hall. From Hertfordshire, the Moon will cover around 92% of the Sun, creating a spectacular celestial event that is not to be missed.
We will begin gathering from 5:30pm ahead of the eclipse, which starts at approximately 6:15pm and reaches its maximum around 7:10pm. With its excellent views towards the western horizon, the Bramfield site is an ideal location to watch the eclipse unfold as the Sun gradually sets.
This event is open to everyone, whether you’re an experienced astronomer or simply curious to see the eclipse for yourself. Free eclipse glasses will be available, kindly subsidised by Go Stargazing, allowing visitors to observe the Sun safely throughout the event. Bring your family and friends and join us for what promises to be a memorable evening under the sky.
