An Introduction to Astronomy Evening with the Derby & District Astronomical Society (DDAS) is a beginner-friendly session at Derby’s Friends Meeting House, offering help with the night sky, telescopes, and basic sky navigation, distinct from their main talks, aiming to get newcomers comfortable with observing.
These events are designed for novices to learn the basics of finding stars, using equipment, and understanding celestial movements, with a small collection fee for venue use, all part of DDAS’s effort to welcome new enthusiasts into the hobby.
