Exmoor Dark Skies Festival 2026

The Exmoor Dark Skies Festival returns from 16 October to 1 November 2026, celebrating its 10th anniversary with its biggest programme yet.

Taking place across Exmoor National Park, Europe’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, the festival features more than 70 events celebrating the wonders of Exmoor after dark. Visitors can enjoy guided stargazing and astronomy sessions, planetarium experiences, night walks, astrophotography, nocturnal wildlife encounters and a host of unusual activities including bioluminescence walks, moonlit dips and night-time e-bike rides.

With events suitable for families, beginners and experienced stargazers alike, the festival offers a wonderful opportunity to experience some of the darkest and most spectacular night skies in the UK.
