Eric Tomney Memorial Observatory Open Day (free!)
Saturday 4th October 2025 from 14:00pm to 22:00pm
Eric Tomney Memorial Observatory
Mugdock Country Park, Milngavie, Lanarkshire, G62 8EL
The Astronomical Society of Glasgow invites you to the Eric Tomney Memorial Observatory Open Day on Saturday 4 October, from 2PM into the evening.
Two years after its opening, the observatory stands as both a dream realised by the Society and a lasting legacy of our former president, Eric Tomney.
Join us for an afternoon of solar observing (weather permitting), guided tours of the observatory, and—if skies are clear—night-time stargazing.
It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the wonders of the cosmos for yourself and to meet the members of the Society who helped bring this community project to life.
