The Astronomical Society of Glasgow is the largest astronomical society in Scotland, with a proud history of promoting an interest in astronomy for over 100 years. Membership is open to all, welcoming anyone with even the slightest curiosity about the wonders of the universe.
The Society has access to the Acre Road Observatory at the University of Glasgow, providing members with unique opportunities for observation and research. Additionally, the Society often runs outreach events at Mugdock Country Park, engaging the wider community in the exploration of the night sky.

The Astronomical Society of Glasgow invites you to join them for their regular monthly lecture meeting on the third Thursday of each month from September through to May each year (The date does sometimes change to accommodate guest speakers).
The lectures cover various topics of Astronomy, from Planetary Science to Astrophotography and The Search for Life Beyond Earth. The sessions are free and are open to members and non-members alike.
These meetings also offer an opportunity to learn about the group's practical astronomy activities, including public events at Mugdock Park and observing sessions at their observatory.
