Join the friendly team of astronomers at the Community Observatory St Martins on Scilly (COSMOS) and experience the truly great dark skies above the Scilly Isles during this one of the facility’s regular Tuesday evening open nights that occur from April through to October.

In April, September and October, the observatory is open from 20:00 to 21:00. From May to August; the observatory is open from 21:00 to 22:00. If the skies are clear, events may run longer.

Due to limited capacity, these sessions must be booked in advance.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
