The North York Moors National Park was awarded International Dark Sky Reserve status in 2020, in recognition of both their fantastic dark skies and their commitment to keeping them that way! The region is host to Dalby Forest and the annual Starcamp that takes place there as well as a number of dark sky discovery sites. The National Park runs a dark skies friendly scheme where local accommodation providers are encouraged to support Astro-tourism. It’s well worthy of a visit, both by day and of course by night!
