Sunderland Astronomical Society

Join the friendly astronomers from the Sunderland Astronomical Society for their monthly formal meeting which includes a presentation by a guest speaker and, if weather permits, observing from their observatory.

Everyone is welcome to this public open evening of the Cygnus Observatory at the Washington Wetland Centre.

The observatory is usually open every Thursday and Sunday evening to members and non-members from 7 – 9 pm. Please note that these events are subject to volunteer availability and weather conditions.

Astronomers from the Sunderland Astronomical Society will operate telescopes and answer questions. So if you have a telescope, bring it along for expert advice!

On the third Sunday of each month, the group meets for a more formal session that includes a presentation by a guest speaker.

These events are an excellent opportunity to learn more about their Society and possibly join their group.
