  • Salford Observatory open evening

Wednesday every week from January 2025 to December 2025

Salford Observatory, Chasely Fields, M6 7DZ

The friendly and welcoming astronomers from the Salford Astronomical Society open their fantastic observatory on Wednesday evenings of most weeks throughout the whole year. These events occur no matter the weather, with presentations taking place if the skies are cloudy.

The observatory is home to an incredible 18" aperture reflecting telescope, and the Society renovated the facility in 2020 with a new warm room and projector screen. The observatory offers solar viewing through the summer months and may stay open for longer each evening if the skies are clear.

A visit is highly recommended! Clear skies!
