Robert Ince is a well-known amateur astronomer and professional scientist. He was the resident astronomer and manager of the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory (SDSO) in the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park (GFDSP).

Robert works with the Lake District National Park, Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Forestry Commission, and local wildlife trusts to develop astronomy tourism and provide astronomy outreach events to increase light pollution awareness in the North of England.

Robert also wrote a weekly column in the Scottish national newspaper, the Daily Record, and published articles and astronomical images in amateur astronomical magazines. Robert is an experienced Astrophotographer who is currently concentrating on timelapse and starscapes - you can find his videos on YouTube and his images on Flickr.

Robert is the lead astronomer, part of a wider group of amateur astronomers known as the "Starmakers", and was a co-author of the free stargazing information website Go Stargazing.
