Lincoln Astronomical Society is a friendly and active group bringing together people with a shared interest in astronomy and the night sky. Based at Lincoln Observatory, the society welcomes everyone from complete beginners to experienced observers.

The society holds regular monthly meetings featuring talks and presentations on a wide range of astronomical topics, alongside opportunities for practical observing using the observatory’s facilities. Members are passionate about sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for astronomy, with visitors and new members always welcome.

Regular meetings with Lincoln Astronomical Society

  • Lincoln Astronomical Society meeting

    The first Tuesday of the month from January 2026 to December 2026

    Lincoln Observatory, Lincoln, LN1 3TZ

    Join the members of the Lincoln Astronomical Society for this monthly meeting at their observatory and lecture facility. These meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month except for January, which is moved to the second Tuesday to avoid the New Year. If the weather permits, an informal observing session may take place in the observatory. Non-members are asked to pay £5 on the door to attend, or £30 to join the society for the year.

    Tuesday every week from September 2026 to August 2027

    Lincoln Observatory, Lincoln, LN1 3TZ

    Regular observing sessions take place at the Lincoln Observatory, usually on Tuesday evenings from about 7.30pm if the sky is clear. These events are primarily for Society members however a few visitors are always welcome. Please contact the Society if you are interested in going along.
