The Jersey Astronomy Club is a welcoming community for anyone curious about the night sky, from complete beginners to experienced observers. Based on the unique dark-sky potential of the island, the club brings people together through regular talks, observing nights, and special events that make astronomy accessible and exciting for all ages.

Whether it’s sharing views of Saturn through a telescope, learning how to photograph the Milky Way, or simply standing under the stars with like-minded people, the club’s passion is all about helping others discover just how magical the universe above Jersey can be.

Regular meetings with Jersey Astronomy Club

  • Jersey Astronomy Club Observatory Open Night

    Monday every week from January 2026 to December 2026

    Sir Patrick Moore Astronomy Centre - Jersey, St. Brelade, JE3 8LN

    Members of the Jersey Astronomy Club meet regularly at their observatory located at the Sir Patrick Moore Astronomy Centre on the South of the island. Members of the public are most welcome to join them.  

    On the second Monday of every month, they have their monthly club meeting, which includes a talk by a club member or visiting speaker.  

    Every other Monday, the observatory dome is opened when the weather allows for observing -- check the club's FaceBook page early Monday evenings for confirmation if and when the observatory will be open.
