Hanwell Community Observatory

Hanwell Community Observatory is a cherished hub for stargazing and learning in west London, welcoming the public each year for its much-loved Stars and Snowdrops event on the second weekend of February, when winter skies meet the first signs of spring.

The observatory was founded and guided for many years by its devoted Director, Christopher Taylor, whose passion for astronomy and community outreach shaped its warm, inclusive spirit; he sadly passed away in 2024.

In his memory and legacy, the observatory will continue to host outreach events, ensuring that his commitment to sharing the wonders of the night sky lives on for future generations.
