Croydon Astronomical Society

Join the welcoming members of the Croydon Astronomical Society at this regular meeting which take place on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.

The sessions include a guest speaker presentation, often tailored towards novices. They are also a great way of meeting like-minded people and learning more about the group's stargazing activities at their observatory.

There is no charge; however, a suggested donation of £3 helps towards costs, and refreshments are available.

The welcoming members of the Croydon Astronomical Society open their Norman Fisher Observatory near Kenley Aerodrome every clear Saturday evening from around the beginning of September through to the end of March.

These open evenings are weather permitting and only go ahead if the skies are clear enough to allow observing. Opening times change throughout the year based on the season and what is visible in the evening.

The group will announce if the event is going ahead and tonight's opening time around Saturday lunchtime. Please check the home page of their website or Facebook page for the latest updates.

Parking is nearby in Hayes Lane, just a couple hundred metres to the south, at the Royal Air Force Kenley Tribute.

These events are free of charge, and there is no need to book.
