The society provides a forum for exploring and discussing all aspects of astronomy, encourages amateur observation, and operates the university's observatory and telescopes. Bringing together both beginners and experienced observers, the society offers a friendly environment for anyone with an interest in discovering more about the night sky.

Regular meetings with Cranfield Astronomical Society

  • Cranfield Astronomical Society meeting and observing

    Thursday every week from October 2026 to March 2027, school term time only

    Loxham Observatory, Cranfield, MK43 0TH

    The Cranfield Astronomical Society meet weekly during term time on the Cranfield University Campus from October to Easter.

    Observing from their Loxham Observatory is the main priority for these sessions; if the weather is inclement, the group gathers in the nearby Cranfield Student Association lounge.

    Meetings are attended mainly by Cranfield University students and staff; however, persons not related to the University are very welcome as associate members. Please get in touch with the Society if you would like to go along.
