Tissington Solar System Walk

Tissington Solar System Walk

Tissington, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1RA, East Midlands

Discover and learn about the planets as you walk through beautiful Tissington with this new walkable and wheelable scale model of our Tissington Solar System.

You’ll set off from the Sun – Tissington Hall, and journey through the Solar System, passing Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn – as you walk around the village.

To reach Uranus, set off from Tissington Hall (the Sun) to The Lodge – then head back to the Sun (Tissington Hall) and you’ll have walked the equivalent distance to Neptune.

The entire walk around the village, from the Sun to Saturn is about 15 minutes. Add an extra 10 minutes to Uranus (The Lodge) and the same back to Neptune. Enjoy the beautiful Tissington Solar System display at The Lodge.

It’s an ideal day out for curious minds of all ages, offering a fun and educational way to learn more about our Solar System. You can experience just how far apart the planets are – but on a 1:1.6 billion scale and with every step you are walking millions of kilometers through space!
