Cawfields Quarry is officially recognised as a “dark sky discovery site”, perhaps one of the best in the UK! On clear, moonless nights the location is simply breathtaking — the low levels of light pollution allow for a stunning vista of the night sky with starlight reflecting in the nearby lake. The featured photo was taken by two of the Go Stargazing team from this site in February 2017. The location also has toilet facilities open 24 hours a day — no overnight camping allowed.
