Stargazing at Dyffryn Gardens
Friday 12th December 2025 from 19:30pm to 21:30pm
Dyffryn Observatory
Dyffryn Gardens, St Nicholas, South Glamorgan, CF5 6SU
Join Cardiff Astronomical Society for an evening of stargazing at the beautiful Dyffryn Gardens. These friendly Star Parties are perfect for beginners of all ages who want to take their first steps into astronomy.
Each event begins with a guided tour of the night sky, helping you recognise constellations and navigate your way among the stars. You’ll also enjoy short talks and live demonstrations using Stellarium (a virtual planetarium) and real telescopes — a great way to learn about the Moon, bright planets, and the most striking Messier objects visible that evening.
Whether you’re curious about the cosmos or thinking of buying your first telescope, this is an ideal introduction to stargazing in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
