Royal Institution Public Talk - How to kill an asteroid
Saturday 1st February 2025 from 14:00pm to 15:15pm
The Royal Institution
21 Albermarle Street, London, London, W1S 4BS
There are approximately 25,000 ‘city-killer’ asteroids in near-Earth orbit, but we haven’t found them all yet! Even though some are too small for us to find, they’re still capable of large-scale destruction. But fear not as an international team of scientists and engineers are working to protect Earth.
Join award-winning science journalist Robin George Andrews as he explores the development of the technology that makes it possible to deflect an asteroid away from colliding with the Earth!
Please note that this has already taken place on 01/02/2025
