Kelling Heath Holiday Park will host a special weekend event this October to celebrate the opening of its brand-new Dark Sky Viewing Platform. Running from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th October 2025, the ‘Wild Sky’ event invites families to experience the beauty of North Norfolk’s night skies at one of the region’s official 2-Star Dark Sky Discovery Sites. The platform will be officially opened by Norfolk-born astronomer and broadcaster Mark Thompson, well known for his appearances on BBC’s Stargazing Live.
Across the weekend, guests can enjoy a variety of free, family-friendly activities designed to bring the wonders of the cosmos closer. Highlights include a stargazing evening with the North Norfolk Astronomical Society, Mark Thompson’s family talk on the night sky, and the launch of new Dark Sky Activity Packs for self-guided exploration. Visitors can also join guided walks and talks that celebrate both astronomy and the nocturnal wildlife of Kelling Heath, making it a weekend of discovery under the stars.
