Introduction to the Wonders of the Night Sky

Yorkshire Dales environmental campaigning charity, Friends of the Dales with Keighley Astronomical Society brings you an introduction to the wonders of the night sky.
The part theoretical, part practical event will enable participants to learn astronomy and understand the workings of the night sky with a view to identifying the key stars and constellations.
The session includes: using star charts, judging angular distances, creating your own planisphere, along with a short guided walk to put it all into practice.
Suitable for age 12 and above (12–17-year-olds to be accompanied by an adult).
This event takes place as part of the 10th Anniversary Yorkshire Dales Dark Skies Festival 2025.
