The Moffat Community Observatory offers a fantastic astronomical resource to the local community, complementing the town’s Dark Sky Town status as recognised by the International Dark-Sky Association.
Constructed of two log cabins and a three-metre diameter dome, the observatory houses a professional telescope offering beautiful views of various night sky objects. In addition, the venue is the proud home of the enthusiastic astronomers of Moffat Astronomy Club.
The observatory opened in October 2021 and from November that year will be accepting bookings via the Moffat Community Observatory website.
