On the first Thursday of each month (except for June and July), the Eddington Astronomical Society meet at Kendal Museum. Meetings generally start with a news round-up, then a break for tea or coffee, followed by a lecture or presentation. Visitors and prospective new members are very welcome; there’s no need to book, and parking is available in the museum car park.
