Dyffryn Observatory Public Star Party
Friday 3rd October 2025 from 19:30pm to 21:30pm
Dyffryn Observatory
Dyffryn Gardens, St Nicholas, South Glamorgan, CF5 6SU
Cardiff Astronomical Society hosts regular Star Parties at our Observatory in the grounds of Dyffryn Gardens. These events are designed for beginners of all ages who are interested in exploring the night sky.
Each evening begins with a general tour of the stars and constellations, focusing on the Moon, the brighter planets, and some of the more prominent Messier objects.
Visitors can enjoy short talks and presentations, demonstrations of the night sky in real time when weather permits or virtually through Stellarium, and an introduction to the different types of telescopes.
Star Parties offer an enjoyable and informal way to start learning your way around the night sky. If you would like to attend, please email [email protected], remembering to include the number of people in your group.
