Stargazing in West Penwith Dark Sky Park

The International Dark-Sky Association awarded West Penwith Dark Sky Park status in December 2021. This award, which will help protect the stunning dark skies around the coastline of South West England, was the result of many years of hard work by Dark Skies West Cornwall, West Penrith Parish Council and Cornwall AONB.

The region offers numerous opportunities for stargazers, with amazing views of the Milky Way to be enjoyed on moonless nights. The dramatic coastline and ruins such as old Cornish tin mines make excellent foreground objects for astrophotographers.
