Orion Night and Winter Stars at Sutton Bank

The constellation of Orion will dominate this star party on a dark, moonless night.

To the ancient Greeks, he was a hunter, and this majestic presence in the south sky harbours wonders, including a great nebula where stars are born. We’ll also take a trip around the other great sky patterns of winter and keep an eye on the planet Mars, still riding high.

The Hub provides a warm indoor space and a perfect viewing area. The North York Moors National Park is an international dark sky reserve because of its low levels of light pollution. We advise you to wear sensible outdoor footwear and wrap up warm. Bring binoculars if you have them, although we will supply the telescopes!
