Milky Way Night and Summer Stars

Milky Way Night and Summer Stars

Saturday 3rd September 2022 from 20:00pm to 22:00pm

Sutton Bank Star Hub
Sutton Bank National Park Centre, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, YO7 2EX

Dark skies are back after the long summer break and local astronomer Richard Darn will be breaking out the big telescopes to go on a cosmic voyage!

The venue is the excellent Star Hub at Sutton Bank National Park Centre and our targets will be the beautiful Milky Way and summer constellations. We will also reveal the most distant object you can see in the dark skies above – the Andromeda Galaxy – plus we’ll also enjoy an interactive planetarium tour.

The Star Hub provides a warm indoor space and a perfect viewing area. The North York Moors National Park is an international dark sky reserve because of its low levels of light pollution. So wear sensible outdoor footwear, wrap up warm and bring binoculars if you have them (but we’ll provide the telescopes!).

Please note that this has already taken place on 03/09/2022
