We are very pleased to work with Mark Westmoquette, an experienced Astrophysicist and Zen teacher, to encourage an aspect of stargazing that many of us may not be first aware of but one that we call all benefit from, no matter the weather!
When we look up at a sky full of stars, especially from a dark location, it is natural for us to think about our place in the Cosmos. Mindful stargazing is about understanding what it is to ‘be’ in our Universe, to feel part of it, connected to it, appreciate our place in it.
Stargazing offers not only the opportunity for us to marvel at distant objects; it also allows us to look within.
Try it for yourself!
When the stars are out, with the sky clear or partially clear of clouds, listen to Mark’s introduction to Mindful Stargazing, hosted on the Insight Timer website.
Mindful stargazing books
Mark is a published author of several fantastic books, which offer advice and meditation practices to help you with mindfulness when stargazing.
