Stargazing in Quantock Hills National Landscape

The Quantock Hills is located in Somerset to the West of Bridgewater and North of Taunton.
The area consists of sprawling heathland, oak forests and ancient parkland and is a wonderful place to visit, both by daytime and night.

In December 2023 the Quantock Hills Landscape Partnership took the first steps to protecting the area’s dark skies requiring good lighting practices for new developments ensure all external lighting will be installed only if essential for security and safety, and all outdoor lighting will be fully shielded and directed downwards to minimise sky glow.
