Thanet Astronomy Group

Join the friendly members of the Thanet Astronomy Group for their Saturday meetings at the West Bay Cafe. Please note that the first Saturday meeting of each month is moved to Sunday to help members who are always busy on Saturdays. These meetings are free and open to interested people of all ages.

If the weather permits, you'll be able to look through their telescopes -- it's easier to learn how to use a telescope in daylight than in the dark! Practice pointing a telescope at targets such as ships, wind farms, birds etc. You may even be able to safely observe the Sun on sunny days (solar observation requires special filters).

These sessions offer an opportunity to learn more about their group and how you can join them and participate in their night viewing sessions.
