Visit Cressing Temple Barns and find out more about the night sky, learn how to use telescopes and take part in other great fun activities with this fantastic event aimed at younger astronomers. On clear nights you will be able to look through telescopes! The club runs on the second Tuesday of each month from March through to August and is split into two age groups.

Primary school age: 7 – 11 years – 6pm to 7:30pm
Secondary school age: 11 – 17 years 7pm to 8:30pm

Cost is just £2 per child per session and is payable on the day. If space allows our co-ordinator may be able to accommodate children outside the age ranges. Please contact the Society to ask. Booking is essential with a form on the Society website to enable reservations.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
