This 4 week course run in collaboration with astronomer Steve Owens and the Planetarium team from Glasgow Science Centre is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in astronomy! You’ll be guided expertly through the night sky, learning the major constellations as you go, before journeying into space and exploring the vast cosmos. There’s no formal assessment or homework; simply come along to marvel at the beauty of our universe, and relax under the glittering stars of our Planetarium. Cost £50 per person — early booking recommended!

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
