Weather permitting The Astronomical Society of Edinburgh will have their solar telescopes at the top of Calton Hill with members of the public welcome to come along and have a look. The weather forecast is not great however, so please keep an eye on their Facebook page and Twitter feed for more up to date information.

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
