The Astronomy Centre will be open from 12.00 on Monday 11th November (regardless of the weather) for observing the transit of Mercury using special solar telescopes. Although the full transit lasts over five hours we will only see just over half of the event due to local sunset and the hills of our South Western horizon. Also, on the day we may be able to observe some planets after the main event using the AC 16" Telescopes. Venus, Jupiter and Saturn may be glimpsed during and after sunset.
