Join Essex Wildlife Trust & Thurrock Astronomy Society for an opportunity to learn more about the night sky.

The evening will begin with an informative talk from TAS about the solar system and what we can expect to see in the night sky at this time of year.

We will then head outside and use the telescopes to see what planets and stars are visible from the park. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing.

Please note that if the weather is not favourable on Thursday 23rd November, the back up date for this event will be Thursday 30th November. £8 donation per person.

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

The below chart shows if and when the skies will be at their darkest during this event. Moonlight is shown in light yellow and the Sun's twilight in light blue. Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
