Superfoods Under Dark Skies
Saturday 10th February 2024 from 11:00am to 18:00pm
The Fleece Inn - Dolphinholme
Dolphinholme, Lancaster, Lancashire, LA2 9AQ
A special event food tour delivered by Bowland & Bay in collaboration with Discover Bowland.
As we reach peak dark skies and enter a new year, now is the time to search deep into the foodie cosmos for superfoods and faraway places.
The tour will start at The Fleece Inn, Dolphinholme on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, returning after dark to meet special guest and dark skies expert, Joe Taylor.
Joe will guide folks through the night sky from the inn garden if the skies are clear. If not, he’ll hold a fireside chat. Either way, there’ll be pies & local ales/red wine.
The tour will include a wide range of the fantastic superfoods now available within Bowland & Bay; connecting folks back to real food, locally made.
Along the way, we’ll chat, eat & discover fantastic fermentation from sours & kombucha; Pendle Witches teas & tisanes at the barn; the power & properties of mushrooms; bone broth & unlocking Lancashire’s meat locker; raw cheese & sourdoughs; dark chocolate under dark skies.
Alongside the deliciousness, Bowland & Bay provide: luxury transport for up to 8 guests in Mercedes-Benz Tourer; history, landscape and nature photo opportunities; sensory retail stop-offs for pantry & hearth gifts; foodie chats and legendary tales of Bowland & Bay.
We look forward to meeting fellow Foodie Explorers to join the adventure. Minimum age 18. £135 per person.
This event is part of the Forest of Bowland Dark Skies Festival 2024.
