North Essex Astronomical Society will have their telescopes set up for you to observe the Moon, any visible planets, and other objects of interest in the night sky.

They can teach you about the constellations and how to recognise them, and answer any questions you may have about astronomy or telescopes.

The event is free and suitable for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Donations are welcome.

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.
