Everyone is welcome to join the enthusiastic and friendly Cerne Valley Astronomers for this one of their regular stargazing sessions from the garden at the New Inn, Cerne Abbas. This is a great opportunity to learn more about astronomy and stargaze with experts observing objects such as the moon, planets, nebulae and galaxies. Bring your own telescope if you have one. These events are free of charge and everyone is welcome!  A perfect way to spend an evening!

Event darkness

The Moon has a big impact on the visibility of celestial bodies in the night sky. Try to plan your stargazing when there is no bright Moon at night as this is when the skies will be at their darkest.

Midnight on the date shown is shown as a white line with sunset to the left and sunrise the next morning to the right. A black background with stars shows the best times for stargazing.
