Join local Astronomer Gary Lintern in the Gatehouse at the Lord Crewe Arms for an evening of stargazing. Gary is an expert in his field and will give a beginners’ guide to stargazing. If the weather is clear, expect a trip to the bottom of our garden to look at the night sky through astronomy binoculars (there will be enough for everyone). You will be able to see a great deal through the binoculars. Some objects, such as star clusters, look better than they do through telescopes. We will also discuss free software and mobile apps, to help you find your way around the night sky.
This event is taking place as part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 2019 running from 23rd October to 3rd November 2019.
- Event includes an astronomy related presentation or talk.
- Event will involve stargazing and observing the skies through telescopes weather permitting
